ذكذكتسئµ alum promoted to Broadcast Education Association chair position

University of Louisiana at Monroe graduate and West Monroe native, Dr. William G. Covington Jr., was recently appointed to Division Chair of the Curriculum, Assessment, and Administrative Division of the Broadcast Education Association.

Covington earned two degrees from ذكذكتسئµ, including a B.A. in radio/T.V. management, and an M.A. in speech.

Covington’s time at ذكذكتسئµ helped groom him for a successful career.

“ذكذكتسئµ was an answer to a prayer,â€‌ he said. “It was a place where I cultivated a love of learning and a desire to explore my dreams beyond what I had experienced up to that point in my life. Learning extended beyond the classroom as the people I met and the groups with which I became affiliated had an enduring positive impact on my life, enhancing the quality.â€‌

Covington is a tenured faculty member at Edinboroآ University of Pennsylvania.آ He teaches a variety of media courses including journalism, sports writing, media management, promotion, and introduction to mass media. He has also served as the faculty adviser to the campus radio station and cable news outlet.

He said, “ذكذكتسئµ is a significant part of my life now. The college years are formative, as one enters adulthood and severs ties with the past. When I entered ذكذكتسئµ as a freshman it was a distinction point in my life that continues decades later. I thank God for the people, experiences, and opportunities I encountered at ذكذكتسئµ that I would have not experienced anywhere else.â€‌

Covington also holds degrees from Bowling Green State University and the University of Missouri.
